These gauntlets are based
on a pair of Cuirassiers/Horseman’s
gauntlets, from the Imperial Austria Arms & Armour museum in
Graz. Each features a three-piece knuckle, incised lames, starred
brass rivets, flared cuffs & unique wrist articulation. The
central wrist lame is able to expand as well as fold in on itself,
whilst naturally returning to its central position when the wrist
is relaxed. This provides the horseman with all the freedom of
leather gauntlets, but the superior protection of steel. Allowing
complete & unhindered rein & pistol control whilst mounted.
12” long with wrist straight, 4” across knuckles & 15.5” cuff
circumference.
